ESDRC organized an interaction program on 6th September 2021 on the occasion of 13th International vulture awareness day at Hemantapur, Dang. Representatives from community forest user committees of Dang district attended the interaction event.

Manaka Maharjan, secretary at ESDRC and chairperson of the program shared issues of vulture conservation in Dang district. Chief guest of the program and former speaker of the House of Representatives Nepal, Krishna Babadur Mahara highlighted the need of Nepal government’s support in vulture conservation. Special guest of the program and Chief of Cultural Centre at Nepal Sanskrit University Dang, Jarman Chaudhary focused on role of all the stakeholders in vulture conservation. Information Officer at Division Forest Office, Khim Bahadur KC spoke about the plans and activities of Division Forest Office to protect vultures in Dang district.

Likewise, President of Vulture Conservation Network, Dilli Bahadur Rawat explained the need of local communities and local government’s attention in vulture conservation. The interaction program was financial supported by Bird Conservation Nepal (BCN).
